Word Hare support

How to play

• Pick Free Race or Daily Race. The ring around the screen is your clock.
• For each letter of your guess, tap the key that holds it. After five taps, pick your word from the short list.
• Blue means the letter is in the right spot. Orange means it is in the word but somewhere else. Grey means it is not in the word.
• There is no limit on guesses, only the clock. In Free Race, each word you solve adds 20 seconds.

Pausing

Lower your wrist or leave the game and the clock stops and the board hides. Come back and carry on. Settings has a longer clock and a no-clock option.

Your progress

Bests and streaks are stored on the watch, and removing the app removes them. There is no account, so progress does not move between watches.

Complication and tile

On Apple Watch, touch and hold your watch face, tap Edit, pick a slot and choose Word Hare. On Wear OS, the complication is added the same way, and the tile is added by swiping across your tiles, scrolling to the end and tapping Add tile.

Accepted word lists are derived from the Wordnik open word list: https://github.com/wordnik/wordlist

- **How it is used:** `packages/word-data/scripts/build-dictionary.ts` downloads the upstream list
  into `packages/word-data/source/wordnik-wordlist.txt` (git-ignored, fetched on demand), verifies
  it against the SHA-256 digest pinned in `packages/word-data/source/SOURCES.json`, then derives
  normalized five- and six-letter subsets.

- **Modifications:** lowercased, Unicode-normalized (NFKD, diacritics stripped), filtered to
  three to eight ASCII letters `a-z`, deduplicated, sorted, unioned with the curated answer lists,
  and filtered against a maintained block list for answer selection. Measured at the current
  build: 1,344 / 5,595 / 11,846 / 18,195 / 25,388 / 31,593 accepted guesses at lengths 3-8
  respectively — 93,961 in total.
